An antique hand-colored engraving on paper after E. Benjamin titled The Campanile, Venice, created after a painting by listed Scottish artist William Leighton Leitch (1804 – 1883). The Venice cityscape depicts pedestrians and merchants in St. Mark’s Plaza, with St Mark’s bell tower shown to the center of the composition. The unsigned print includes title and artist information printed in plate to the lower margin. It is matted in tan and presented under glass in a black wooden frame with glossy finish, fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- slight toning to print; minor edge wear, nicks, dust and scratching to frame.
