19th Century Carl Thieme and Karl Richard Klemm Dresden Porcelain Tea Service
Item Details
A three-piece porcelain tea and coffee service by Dresden including one coffee pot, one teapot and one covered sugar bowl. The items feature large scrolled handles with urn-shaped wells rising above footed pedestal bases and removable lids adorned with finials. The teapot and coffee pot feature caryatid style spouts depicting a male figure and the exterior of each item is decorated with a vibrant multi-colored floral motif accented by gold trim. The undersides bear a 19th century Dresden trademark of a ‘T’ over a pair of crossed lines for Carl Thieme at Potschappel (1888 – 1901). Also included is a unique creamer featuring an almost matching design. The underside bears a blue Karl Richard Klemm trademark along with ‘Dresden Made in Germany’ (founded 1869).
