Hand-Knotted Pieced Balouch and Turkish Saddle Bag
Item Details
A hand-knotted, pieced saddle bag, made of semi-antique Baluch rug remnants and Turkish kilim pieces. Each side of the bag features a hand-knotted section with a central medallion in scarlet, tangerine, olive and taupe on a black background framed by a compound border with floral and scroll designs. The central section between the bags is flat Kilim weave in bright colors with a Soldier pattern, and there are applied fringe sections on each end in the same bright colors. The sides are decorated with applied fringes that have been twisted with have white beads. The backing of the bag is a flat woven cream color.
