Benjamin Mendoza Ink and Watercolor Painting "Naked Solitude"
Item Details
An ink and watercolor painting on paper titled Naked Solitude by listed Bolivian artist Benjamin Mendoza (born 1935). The painting depicts a female nude in repose, with her legs curled beneath her and her head resting on her arms. It is rendered through expressive line work and light water color washes in brown, and areas of black ink line work in the shadows. The work is signed in black to the lower left. It is presented behind and brown mat with a green liner, under glass, in a natural wood frame. The wire hanger to the verso is broken.
Condition
- frame molding is cracked to the verso at wire hanger attachments. Wire hanger is detached from one side. Minor wear to frame finish.
