A power-loomed Swedish Brussa wool area rug by Besmer. This rug is fashioned after a Persian Kashan style, and rendered in a palette of ivory, burnt orange, indigo, powder blue, rose, and gold. The ivory colored field features an all-over ornate herati pattern with a palmette adorned floral swag around the edges and ends. Framing the field is a main border of equally ornate floral and foliate motifs with cartouches and scrolling lines. Finishing the rug are serged edges and an applied ivory fringe to the ends, as well as a label to the underside.
