A hand-knotted Indian Mahal wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of teal, sky blue, rose, ivory, sand, navy, cranberry, cornsilk, and powder blue. The teal colored field features a mirrored image of a herati pattern, with exaggerated foliate motifs. Framing the field is a main border of another herati pattern, along with a floral meander, and a laleh abbasi guard border. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton ivory warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
