An English silver plate shell dish by William Adams. This dish features a scallop shell shape with gadroon trim around the handle, engraved with a sword depiction flanked by wings. The dish rests on three spiral feet. It is stamped with the William Adams maker’s mark of a navigation divider flanked by two shields with ‘W’ and ‘A’ in the centers, along with ‘England’ and ‘46842/6’. The dish is accompanied by a silver-plated waste bowl, featuring a rotund shape with a ruffled lip and floral band around the body. It is stamped, ‘W 1010 Quadruple Plate’ on the underside.
