Hand-Knotted Persian Tabriz Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Tabriz area rug. This wool area rug features a star pendant medallion encircled in palmettes with floral vines with pendants centering the field. The medallion and pendants are grounded in navy over a salmon field which is filled with crisp rosettes and floral vines rendered in brick red, watermelon, stone gray, navy and ivory. Baby blue is introduced to the color scheme in the spandrels. Five borders frame the field, including meandering floral and herati patterns. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and a kilim skirt with knotted ivory fringe at each end. Leather strips are sewn to underside lateral edges. Unlabeled.
