A hand knotted Indo-Persian Tabriz area rug. This wool rug features a rectangular field populated by palmettes and other floral motifs in a palette of gold, cream, sage and powder blue on a burgundy ground. The field is surrounded by a compound border with floral and Boteh designs, and the far ends have white cotton fringe. The rug is unmarked.
