A 1973 offset lithograph poster on paper after a design by well-listed Polish artist Jan Lenica (1928 – 2001). The piece advertises a 1973 performance of Richard Wagner’s Tannhäuser opera at the Teatr Wielki in Warsaw, Poland. It depicts the portrait an abstract face in side profile, singing with eyes closed, and rendered in a series of variegated blue and green color blocks with thick outlines. The poster is signed and dated in plate to the upper right, with concert information printed in plate to the top and bottom margins. The print is presented under glass in a silver tone wooden frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
