An oil painting on board titled Ladies by the Sea from listed French artist Marie Charlot. This painterly work depicts small groups of woman standing on a hazy beach, all rendered with heavy impasto and a muted palette of pink and blue. The piece is signed to its lower right and is mounted in a white wooden frame with a wire for hanging and a gallery label to its verso.
Condition
- some smudges and wear to the edges of the frame; some discoloration to the canvas fillet; to the verso, some rips and wear to the protective backing.
