An early 19th century Mexican hand painted folk art terra cotta pottery vase. The vase has a tapered form with black-banded top accented with narrow off white stripes, and curved shoulder decorated with a linear zigzag design in cream paint. The body of the vase features a folk art painting depicting a hunter with a gun, large white dog with black spots and a running white animal also with black spots and a long curling tail. The scene is set among a milieu of pendulous blue bell flowers and cholla cacti, with a gray opossum perched in the branches of the cacti. The vase is unsigned.
