Meyers and Thorpe Baseball Photo

A contemporary photo print of Native Americans John Meyers and Jim Thorpe. John was affectionately called ‘Chief’ by his teammates. He was a catcher for the New York Giants from 1909-1915. Jim Thorpe was a tremendous athlete, playing professional football and baseball and he was a Gold Medalist in the 1912 Olympics. He’s posing with Meyers when Jim was his teammate with the Giants. The original photo was taken around 1915. A certificate from Mark Reuben Gallery, located in Sausalito, California is affixed to the back of the matting, but the certificated is blank.
