Jimmy Foxx Wheaties 1930s Panel

Item Details

A 1930s Jimmie Foxx Wheaties photo card. Wheaties placed these cardboard colorful illustrated cards on the backsides of their cereal products. This card was hand cut and depicts Jimmie in a batting pose. The card is #5 in the series and is named ‘Stance Helps Sluggers’ which is highlighted. On the card, there are batting tips for the general baseball fan or youth, with the famous slogan ‘Breakfast Of Champions.’ The card is housed in a frame with glass. A member of the National Baseball Hall Of Fame, Jimmie was a power-hitting first baseman for the Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Athletics.

Condition

The lower right-hand corner has paper loss. Some of the border areas are jagged due to being hand-cut by the original owner back in the 1930s. The card was removed from the frame and was not glued down. The backside depicts some soiling.
