Vintage Louis Spiegel Oil on Board Painting of Clown at Fountain Square
Item Details
An original oil on canvas clown painting by well-listed Ohio artist Louis Spiegel (1901-1975). The painting depicts a clown leaning on his broom against a cloudy blue background with the Tyler Davidson Fountain behind him, puppy in a basket near his feet. It is signed to the lower right. There is a clipped Cincinnati Enquirer article titled ‘Like To Paint Clowns’ to the verso that is signed across by Spiegel. Presented without glass in a beveled wood frame; ready to hang.
