Hand-Knotted Persian Josheghan Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Iranian Josheghan area rug. The rug features a rich palette of navy, vermillion, scarlet, golden yellow, cranberry and spruce. It has a central hexagonal navy medallion with a serrated edge and four cardinal pendants, inside of a larger vermillion lozenge filled with stylized floral arrangements in vases. This shape has a pendant on either side and sits in a navy blue field with continuing geometric floral motifs. Framing the field is a wide primary border featuring abstract geometric motifs over cranberry. The rug has overcast selvedges and short wool warp fringe. A tag to the back is marked “Made in Iran”.
