Ivory Scrimshaws

Item Details

This collection consists of two wonderful ivory scrimshaws carved in the Inuit manor. One is a brooch/pin (gold-toned metal) with an Eskimo boy holding a puppy with an iceberg in the background. It is signed in the lower mid-right, but the signature is illegible. The other is a pendant with a carving of a very happy image. Although the attachment for the pendant is not gold, the ‘bellybutton’ is 18K Gold. They are quite charming and bring a smile to one’s face! Both are carved from walrus tusk; therefore, they cannot be sold or shipped internationally.

  • International law prohibits the exportation of ivory, the winning bidder must, therefore, be a United States resident.
