An oil painting on canvas board of water lilies by listed American artist Gary Michael (b. 1937). Portrayed with vibrant colors, this work features a truncated view of some green lily pads accented with some yellow flowers, floating on a pond. The painting is signed to the lower center. It is presented in a gold-tone wood frame with a textural off-white liner and a gold-tone sight edge. An exhibition review of the artist’s work from The Denver Post is adhered to the verso.
Gary Michael is known for his landscapes and botanical paintings, particularly of vibrantly portrayed water lilies. His work has been exhibited at numerous institutions including the Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver; the Museum of Fine Art, Denver; and the Museum of the Hudson Highlands, Cornwall-on-Hudson, among others.
