Renaissance-Revival Bed with Carved Eagles

A Victorian Renaissance-Revival, walnut bed frame in three-quarter size, having an ornately carved headboard with a carved cartouche, featuring back-to-back eagle heads, fruit, flowers and cornucopia, above an oval, burled veneered panel, supported between two stiles with grape cluster carving and fully carved eagle finials, depicted perched on a base. The bed includes bracketed side rails with turned roundels and a curved footboard with carved moldings and incised detail. Circa 1870s.
