A folk art console table. This piece rises from a base comprised to tree branches, painted in black and finished in bright colorful patterns throughout. Three thin metal crosses painted in a matching style adorn the left side of the shelf and are attached from the backside. There is a caption to the top edge that reads, ’ Front… now lay me down’ ‘and give me the staff of life from the book of Joel chapter I Back’. The sides are marked ‘N.M. 1991’ and the artist initials are signed to the the leg, ‘G.P.S. 1991’. The table is adorned with artificial yellow roses and a hanging glass votive to the right side.
