1888 Signed Oliver Wendell Holmes Poetry Book

A signed book of verse by Oliver Wendell Holmes, former associate chief justice of the U.S. Supreme Court from 1882 to 1899. This hardcover volume is entitled Before the Curfew and Other Poems, Chiefly Occasional and is signed to the flyleaf by Wendell Holmes, and dedicated to his brother John Holmes. The hardcover book is cloth and vellum bound with gilt title and to cover and spine, and was published by Houghton, Mifflin and Company in 1888. The book also comes with a tin type photograph of Wendell Holmes.
