Japanese Sumida Pottery Style Vase
Item Details
A Japanese pottery vase in the style of Sumida pottery, earlier 20th-century. The vase appears with a square neck and drip glaze over rough form matte red glaze. Applied fringed iris floral and foliage decoration to the sides. To one side is a two-character mark in a white cartouche.
Condition
- large chip and missing piece to the blossoming flower; glaze loss to the foot and underside; faint scratches and marks throughout.
