1929 Buescher "True Tone" C Melody Saxophone

A vintage Buescher “True Tone” C melody saxophone, serial number 251023, dating this instrument to 1929. Features include a lacquer finish over yellow brass on the saxophone and keys, with some keys having mother of pearl accents. Under the serial number, the back is marked “True Tone, Trade Mark Registered, Low Pitch, License Pat. Dec. 8. 1914”. Included are a wooden Buescher E-flat mouthpiece with cover, as well as a G. Langenus mouthpiece, and a brown faux alligator hardshell case with burgundy lining.

Condition

- consistent with age; untested, but appears to be in working condition with keys moving freely. Tarnish to finish; pads are in Fair condition and likely will need to be replaced, due to age and long term storage. Marks to case; some internal compartments not securely attached; musty odor.
