M1915A1 Trench Periscope Binoculars with Tripod

A pair of M1915A1 trench periscope binoculars, with tripod stand. This item features an olive green finish and have their model number of ‘BC M1915A1’ visible through the lens; also included is an olive green Type G tripod with adjustable mounts and spiked feet. One of the periscope’s original leather covers is also still attached. Periscope binoculars such as these were designed for use by commanders in the first World War to safely gauge the landscape and direct artillery from the safety of a trench; the ‘BC’ in the model number stands for ‘Battery Commander’.

Condition

- signs of wear and oxidation present throughout; all leather covers except one are missing; signs of scratches and other heavy wear throughout; binoculars are in working condition, the lenses are not broken and all of the knobs turn.
