19th Century Baseball Team Photograph
Item Details
A circa 1880s unidentified baseball team photograph. Presented in a brown scroll-designed wood frame, underneath glass, this team depicts either a ‘JB’ or ‘GB’ emblem placed in the center of their striped baseball jerseys. This twelve member team appears to be posing in front of the outfield wooden wall. Dressed in 19th-century baseball attire, early baseball equipment is portrayed such as a wired caged catcher’s mask. There is no photographer’s name or mark. This photograph was removed from its frame and the backside is blank.
Condition
The image had faded over the years. The frame is contemporary.
