Item Details
A late 19th century oil on canvas landscape by listed Ohio artist Thomas Corwin Lindsay (1839 – 1907). The Realist Romantic style painting depicts a sylvan landscape with twin waterfalls flowing over a rocky promontory nestled among a wooded landscape, with a pool of water framed by a rocky shore with beech trees to the left foreground. The painting is rendered in natural tones with precise brushwork and signed with the artist’s monogram in red to the lower left corner. The piece is displayed in an antique gesso on wood frame with decorative borders. The painting is wired to the verso for wall hanging.
