An oil on canvas landscape by listed artist William A. Eyden (American, 1893 – 1982). The painting depicts a bucolic landscape, rendered in golden tones and in impasto paint application, with an open meadow to the mid ground, golden trees, tall mountains and farm structures to the distant horizon and a dense copse of autumnal trees to the right foreground. The painting is presented in a beveled silver leaf on wood frame, wired to the verso for wall hanging. Artist’s identification is included on paper to the verso. William Eyden, born in Richmond, Indiana, was best known for his Indiana landscapes with trees. He is mentioned in both Who Was Who in American Art and Davenport’s Art Reference and Price Guide.
