A hand knotted Persian Kashan area rug. This wool rug features a center medallion with pendants on a lozenge-shaped field in a palette of scarlet, gold, powder blue, cream, navy, pink and orange. The field is bounded by principally navy spandrels and surrounded by a Bidjar major border within carnation meander minor borders, and the far ends have close-cropped white fringe. The rug is tagged underneath.
