A 1999 plein air watercolor and pen illustration on paper by Kentucky artist Nancy ‘Nana’ Lampton (b. 1942) titled Soyans. The piece depicts a rural French landscape scene in Rhône-Alpes, with green valleys set against majestic mountain peaks and pale blue skies. The work is initialed, titled and dated in ink to the lower left. The frame backing also includes labels with the artist’s signature, work title, media type and a note about the work’s creation. The painting is set over a white backing, matted in white and presented under glass in a black wooden frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
