A signed linocut on paper titled The Apple Tree by listed American artist and educator Herbert Fink (1921-2006). This work features a large apple tree rendered with a crowded web of curvilinear shapes and lines in black ink. The composition is signed by hand in graphite to the lower right; it is titled to the lower left. Presented under glass with off-white matting in a black composite wood frame.

Known for his drawings and prints, Herbert Lewis Fink received his B.F.A. at the Rhode Island School of Design and his M.F.A. from Yale University. He continued his art training at the Art Students League in New York with Arshile Gorky, John Frazier, and Gabor Peterdi, among others. His work has been collected by numerous institutions including the Baltimore Museum of Art; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; and the Art Institute of Chicago, to name a few.

- faint brown stain present to lower left area of composition; small brown stains scattered throughout composition; toning throughout mat; minor scratches, stains, and finish loss scattered throughout frame.
