Item Details
A gouache painting on paper, titled Provence. These three separate compositions depict rustic, Mediterranean style villas cast in the glow of a setting sun, which rest before a foreground field of sunflowers and tilled fields. The pooled pigment is reinforced with truncated, linear brush strokes. To the lower margin of the final composition is a painted title and illegible artist signature. The painting is presented under glass in a cream wooden frame with a sawtooth bracket to the verso for hanging.
Condition
- glass could be cleaned more thoroughly; light wear to frame finish.
