An original oil painting on canvas titled ’Artist’s Studio’. The Expressionistic painting is rendered in very thick impasto, creating a relief effect, in a wide ranging palette of rich hues. It depicts a tableau from a working art studio, with paints and mugs full of brushes filling the table to the foreground. A partially burnt candle sits to the left, and a pitcher filled with red flowers sits ready for the next still life painting. The entire scene is framed by a large window to the background. This piece is unsigned and the title is written to the verso. The stretched canvas is presented unframed.

Condition

- multiple areas of paint loss across painting. Accretion throughout. Minor damage to canvas to both corners on right side.
