Item Details

An oil painting on canvas by artist Katherine Schneider. This self-portrait, painted from life, depicts the artist seated at a dresser in front of a mirror, canvas on her lap. She is lit from the front, and long, dark shadows are cast across the bedroom behind her. A man stands behind her and watches as she paints. The piece is signed and dated 1990 to the verso on a stretcher bar. This piece is presented float-mounted in a wood frame with a sawtooth bracket to the verso for hanging.

- light wear to frame finish; light inpainting throughout; craquelure to paint; discoloration to verso.
