A hand-knotted Sino-Persian wool area rug. This rug features a Nain style, and is rendered in a palette of powder blue, ivory, sand, mocha, terracotta, aqua, rose, and indigo. The ornate powder blue field begins with a central diamond pendant medallion infilled with floral and foliate motifs, with coordinating spandrels, and features long scrolling leaves with flowering vines. Framing the field is a flower embellished herati patterned main border, along with a pair of floral guard borders, and picket style minor borders. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and an ivory warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
