Item Details

A hand-knotted Persian Qashqai area rug. This wool carpet is hand-knotted in a palette of burnt orange, brown, burgundy, deep teal, cream, moss,goldenrod, and coral. The rug features a deep indigo-teal colored hexagonal medallion on a field patterned with ‘S’ hook motifs, birds, octagonal rosettes,and tree of life motifs. Framing each side are chevron patterned columnar brackets with horse head capitals. The moss colored spandrels feature sawtooth edges, repeated ramshorn medallions, and lobbed flower sprays. The rug has rhomboid and floral branch patterned borders. Finished with overcast edges and short wool fringe to either end. Marked ‘Made in Iran’.
