A 25th Anniversary Artist Proof edition of the classic children’s book The Very Hungry Caterpillar with hand-drawn cover by author and illustrator Eric Carle (born 1929). This American Institute of Graphic Arts Award winning book, originally published in 1969, features a hand drawn cover illustration in crayon and blue ink, depicting a cartoon caterpillar proudly hoisting a flag bearing the number 25. It is signed by hand in the lower right and dated 1994. This book is limited to 500 copies, each featuring its own hand drawn cover by the author. It is presented in a pretective acrylic plastic case. The Very Hungry Caterpillar is well known for its distinctive collage style illustration, and has been translated into at least forty languages since its original publication.
