An oil painting on canvas by an unknown artist. The painting depicts two musicians at the center of a dream like world. A ladder extends to a tree to the left side, just below a crescent moon. A window hovers in the sky to the upper right, as several figures work in the fields below and others dance inside a large building. The painting is rendered in a mix of flat and textural areas, in a rich earthy palette, and is reminiscent of the dream like world Chagall often portrayed in his work. This piece is unsigned. The canvas is stretched around a foam core backing and is presented in a stained wood frame with a hanging wire to the verso.

- canvas is slightly buckled. Light accretion to painting surface. Wear to finish of frame.
