This Expressionist style piece portrays a distorted male figure to the center of the composition with a white dove to his right. Near the lower right side, a smiling woman with long hair leans slightly forward, and a second white dove stands to the left side. The figures and shapes are accentuated with effecting black brush strokes and glowing yellow hues. The title Mt. Ararat-Noah lends toward the volcano Mount Ararat located in eastern Turkey, known in Christian tradition as the resting place of Noah’s Ark. The painting is signed to lower right, and the writing to reverse of canvas reads ‘Hilda Katy Mt. Ararat-Noah’. The piece is presented in a beveled wooden frame.
