1926 Prohibition Era Alcohol Prescription from Kentucky

An original 1926 Prohibition era alcohol prescription for ‘Spirits Frumenti,’ a pharmaceutical term for whiskey. It features a completed Prescription Blank during the National Prohibition Act. The prescription was written for a patient in Covington, Kentucky, dated August 31, 1926. The top center portion of the prescription is marked ‘VOID’ by a paper hole punch. Prescriptions were sometimes marked ‘VOID’ or ‘Cancelled’ by the pharmacy to avoid unlawful refills. It is presented in a metal frame under glass.

- minor discoloration to paper; fading to ink; surface wear to frame consistent with age and use; easel missing from backing.
