An original oil painting on canvas titled Normandy Countryside in Spring (Le Boccage Normand au Printemps) by listed French artist Andre Franchet (1896 – 1961). The painting depicts a luminous pastoral landscape rendered in an Impressionistic style and a soft palette. A flowering tree, teeming with pink blooms, fills the center foreground. A small cabin with a thatched roof sits in a grassy pasture to the right, and a mountain range is visible in the distance. The work is signed in black to the lower left. It is presented in a white-washed gold tone wood frame with cast decorative molding and a cream colored wood liner. It is ready to hang with a wire.
