A 1982 original signed artist’s proof woodblock print titled Man on a Tightrope by listed Californian artist David N. Holzman (20th century). The Abstract Expressionistic work depicts a man walking on a tightrope, dressed in a red and black striped shirt and knee length pants, barefoot, with a pointed cap atop his head. A stream or road runs beneath him, with jagged green mountains and cloud-filled blue sky to the distant horizon. The composition is framed by energetic angled forms rendered in red, blue, gold, black and white, with zigzag textures. The print is pencil-signed and titled to the lower margin and presented under glass with a white mat, floated upon a white board and framed in a narrow medium tone wood. The print is wired to the verso for wall hanging. David Holzman’s work is widely collected and exhibited. He is involved in live Art, mixed media and the Punk music scene.
