A reproduction woodblock print on paper titled Needlework (針仕事), after an Edo period woodblock print by listed Japanese artist Kitagawa Utamaro I (喜多川歌麿, 1753 – 1806). The ôban style ukiyo-e print depicts a seamstress in a blue patterned kimono working with fabric against a yellow background, as a small child in her lap plays with a hand fan. The work includes a signature in plate along the left margin. It is matted in white and presented under glass in a composite frame with burled walnut-style finish, fitted with hanging wire to the verso.

Condition

- slight toning and discoloration to paper with small stain to upper left; minor wear to edges of frame, with scratching to top right; glass could benefit from cleaning.
