Hand-Knotted Indo-Persian Heriz Area Rug

A hand-knotted Indo-Persian Heriz wool area rug. This large rug features a central lozenge in watermelon with a star pendant medallion surrounded by rectilinear vine and foliate elements. It is designed with accent tones in camel, cream, denim blue, and black. It has complimenting corner spandrels with echoing patterns in the same palette. A wide primary border having samovar turtle elements flanked by serrated leaves and stylized rosettes frame this rug. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and applied knotted fringe at each end. Unlabeled.
