A handwoven Portuguese Arraiolos wool area rug. This flatweave rug is rendered in a palette of white, and shades of blue. The white hued field features a symmetrical branched image of geometric patterns including a central square medallion, diamonds, arrow motifs, and other symbols. Framing the field is a main border of repeated octagonal medallions, with a pair of meandering guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cobalt blue loop fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
