A hand-knotted Sino-Persian wool area rug. It features a large central medallion infilled with a star form and boteh elements in a palette of salmon, taupe, ivory, chocolate brown, pale blue and pale orange. The medallion is surrounded by an ornate floral lattice pattern in orange and pale yellow, with vase forms and elaborate spandrels having bird forms in the medallion colors. It has an inner pale blue, carved zig-zag pattern, framed by a wide primary border of paneled vases and stylized lotus flowers in the field colors. It has overcast edges, a narrow kilim skirt to the ends, and dense, tied cotton fringe. It is unlabeled.
