An original acrylic painting on paper Sky at Compline (7:15PM) by contemporary American architect and experimental artist Robert Lackney (20th/21st century; Danville, Kentucky). This Impressionist painting is boldly colored with a full spectrum palette. A body of water, reflecting the dramatic sky, is surrounded by a field dominated by deep blue, is visible in the foreground. This painting is signed, titled, numbered, and includes a blind stamp to the lower margin. This piece is presented mounted on black board, behind acrylic glass, and in a black plastic frame. The verso of this piece includes a certificate of authenticity and is equipped to hang.
Lackney is an award winning architect specializing in liturgical spaces, and has designed and completed many notable buildings across Ohio. He was trained in the master-apprentice workshop system and has collaborated with numerous professional creatives, including George Birline, Duncan Stuart and Jose de Riveria. His many professional endeavors include architect, artist, professor, author and founder of The Society for Sacred Architecture. He currently maintains a prolific working studio in Danville Kentucky where he continues to explore and create in oil, acrylic, ink, pencil, graphics and digital media. His substantial body of work reflects the technical and spiritual growth of a lifetime. and while his work continues to transform the underlying impulse remains alive: thoughts, emotions, and insights ‘rise up’ within as visual forms in the 2,3 and multi dimensions and are reflected in images, patterns and sequences of light and radiating love.
