A hand-knotted Northwest Persian village area rug. This wool rug features a center lozenge on a lozenge-shaped field, populated with geometric and floral motifs, in a palette of scarlet, rust, seafoam, blue, orange, gold, teal and cream. The field is bounded by cream colored spandrels and surrounded by a major border with flower and pear designs within chained Boteh minor borders, and the far ends have white fringe. The rug is tagged underneath.
