An original oil painting on panel by listed American artist Lester David Boronda (1886-1953). This landscape image depicts layers of painterly rendered rolling hills of sparsely wooded farmland. A white farmhouse and outbuildings is visible beyond the farthest hill. The work is signed ‘Lester D. Boronda’ in the lower right. It is presented in a wood and gesso frame with gold tone trim. There is a hanging wire mounted to the verso.

A listed American artist, Lester David Boronda (1886-1953) was born in Reno Nevada. Raised on a cattle ranch in Salinas, California, Boronda began his artistic endeavors at the Mark Hopkins Institute in San Francisco where he studied under the American Tonalist painter and American Arts and Crafts artist Arthur Frank Matthews. Boronda went on to study under Frank DuMond, an American illustrator and Impressionist painter, at the Art Students League in New York. After also undergoing artistic study in Germany and France, Boronda returned to the United States where he eventually split his time between New York City and Mystic, Connecticut. Known for his paintings of landscapes and street scenes, Boronda’s style is heavily influenced by the painterly style of the Impressionists.
