A 1960s-1970s original signed Modernist oil on canvas titled The Knight by listed artist L. Frank. The Abstract Expressionistic work is rendered in rich shades of red orange, yellow, gold, black, hot pink and off white on a yellow background , with energetic brushwork and with both impasto and washed applications of paint. The non-objective subject is composed of a figural form to the center of the composition, posed with an arcing left arm thrown over the back and with bent legs expressing movement. The painting is signed to the lower right corner and signed and titled to the verso, and displayed in a narrow black-painted wood frame. The piece is wired to the verso for wall hanging.
