Item Details
A 1960s-1970s original signed Modernist oil on canvas titled Mid-Summer by listed artist L. Frank. The Abstract Expressionistic work is rendered in rich shades of orange, yellow, black, red, mustard and russet, with energetic brushwork and impasto application of paint. The non-objective subject is composed of a figural form to the right of the composition, with a dark gray head, russet body and swirling red heart, and two bright orange circular shapes to the left. The painting is signed to the lower right corner and displayed in a narrow gold-painted wood frame. The piece is wired to the verso for wall hanging.
